Spring of 2008 from Uniscrap, a scrap yard in Copenhagen’s South Harbor area, as well as from Arcelor Mittal, a steel mill in Hamburg.

Of all metals, iron is the one which is produced in the largest amounts. Scrap metal is an important commodity, since salvaging it uses less energy than the process used with iron ore. During the first quarter of 2008 the price of scrap metal rose 10 percent compared to 2007.
